THE ANNUAL MEXICAN MILITARY PARADE TAKES OVER THE HISTORIC STREETS OF MEXICO CITY
September is Mexico’s most important month, not only for its delicious seasonal dishes such as Chiles en Nogada, but also the celebration of Mexico’s independence on September 15. El Zocalo would soon be filled by millions of Mexican nationals chanting “Viva Mexico!” alongside their highly beloved president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).This Independence Day was particularly meaningful due to AMLO’s incoming departure from power. He would be handing the burning torch to Mexico’s first ever female president, Claudia Sheinbaum, just days after El Grito. The following morning continues this patriotic celebration with the yearly Mexican Military Parade which begins at El Zocalo and goes through Paseo de la Reforma.
